Sorry Coronabros, The NFL Is Back & Things Are OK
The stands might not be full. Andy Reid might have a fogged-up shield. The Collinsworth slide might've been killed temporarily by COVID. But here we are watching the NFL opener and coronabros have to be fuming over how well this is all going for Roger Goodell and the Shield.
There wasn't a national incident during the two anthems that were played, including the black anthem. One Chiefs player kneeled for the anthem and the Texans stayed in the locker room. That's it.
A unity meeting held at mid-field between the two teams was highlighted by Andy Reid's fogged shield and provided a needed light moment in the face of the brutal six months or so that we've all gone through. After that NBC did what it does best. It unleashed Al & Cris to get down to football. Just old fashioned times where guys sit there and talk football. Imagine that.
Enjoy it tonight because when ESPN gets its hands on Monday Night Football you'll be beaten over the head with social justice. You'll be begging to get the NBC broadcast back.
Andy's mask and unity. This isn't so bad.
