Search Warrants Issued For Houston QB Deshaun Watson's Accounts

The Houston heat remains squarely on Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, even though he has spent the entire 2021 season on the inactive list. In the midst of 22 civil lawsuits relating to his preference for unsolicited and non-consensual happy ending massages, the QB has been issued three search warrants for his social media accounts, including Instagram and Cash App.

Houston's ABC13 obtained the three search warrants and reports that the data authorized to be seized spans from September 1, 2019 through January 1, 2021.

The search warrants were discovered yesterday, but were actually signed by a judge in October. These warrants will allow investigators to track Watson's messaging, chat logs, payment history and more. Houston's inactive quarterback reportedly sought out masseuses by way of social media messaging.

Earlier this month Tony Buzbee, who represents all the women in all 22 lawsuits against Watson, said prosecutors have already met with at least two of the women involved in the lawsuits, and additional meetings with other plaintiffs have been scheduled. There is growing belief that the case will be presented to a grand jury in January.

As the criminal investigation continues, Watson remains a member of the Texans in name and salary only. He has not practiced with the team since early in training camp and has been listed as inactive in all 13 Texans games this fall. Watson is being paid more than $17 million this season to sit and watch as both his personal life and the Texans' season derail.

Up to this point, the NFL has done nothing other than investigate the Watson situation. When reached by ABC13's Adam Winkler, the NFL responded by saying: "The matter remains under review of the personal conduct policy."

Watson, 26, signed a four-year, $177.5 million contract with Houston in 2020.
