Russell Wilson Could Return To Seahawks In Week 10

There is slightly more clarity on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson‘s return to the field after suffering a finger injury in Week 5.

Wilson was initially projected to miss 6-8 weeks due to a fractured middle finger on his throwing hand during the Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The injury came off an accidental run-in with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald when Wilson’s hand came down on the incoming DT.

Wilson is set to have a pin removed from his middle finger, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, giving him a real chance to return from IR and play in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. Until then, Seattle has called upon veteran backup Geno Smith at QB.

"Russ is making progress," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters earlier this week. "He's definitely making progress. He's very positive in all of that. I know it's hard on him. He wants to be out there so bad. he's really conditioning hard to prepare himself physically and mentally. ... It's really admirable the way he's going about it. ... We'll keep our fingers crossed for good results."

The Seahawks will host the New Orleans Saints on Monday with kickoff set for 5:15 p.m. PDT, before hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8 and having a Week 9 bye.
