Raiders Start The Season 3-0 After Gaming-Winning Field Goal

The Raiders just won a 31-28 thriller over the Dolphins that gets them to 3-0 and a tie for first place in the AFC West with the Broncos. They clinched tonight's game on this 22-yard field goal off the leg of Daniel Carlson.

All set up by a conservative play call from Dolphins head coach Brian Flores when he decided to kick a game-tying field goal on 4th and 2 rather than going for the win. But just as football always does, their conservative play calling bit them straight in the tuchus just two minutes later.

Overall, Dolphins backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett played well throwing for 215 yards and doing a great job of managing this game. Most NFL analysts didn't give Miami a chance in this one, however a smart gameplan that involved 27 rush attempts on 133 yards worked out. That attack unfortunately fell short, though.

Derek Carr, on the other hand, was a monster in this one throwing for 386 yards and two touchdowns. Only blemish for the Raiders all day was their inability to hang onto the football with two lost fumbles. The Raiders also rushed for 140 yards -- complete dominance outside of turnovers.

So now the Las Vegas Raiders are 3-0, while the reigning AFC champion Chiefs lose two straight to fall to 1-2, and they're tied with the Broncos of all teams. They'll need all the padding they can get over Kansas City and the Chargers as they're clearly elite. The AFC West is getting JUICY!
