QB Derek Carr Would Love For WR Davante Adams To Join The Raiders

One position that could use an upgrade on the Las Vegas Raiders roster is the wide receiver position, and one player who is speaking out about that very position is quarterback Derek Carr. Carr has gone through a number of pass catchers since coming to the Raiders in 2014, so he knows what he's talking about.

Carr recently spoke about one non-Raider receiver in particular, his former college roommate and the leading pass catcher for the Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams. Adams could wind up as a free agent in 2022, so this talk might not be just a bunch of hot air.

There's no question that Carr would love to add Adams to the roster.

“I’ve learned in this business, you never shut the door on anything,” Carr said.

“I know that he’s obviously the best receiver — everyone said one of the best, he’s the best receiver in the NFL. The guy is unbelievable. He’s been one of my best friends since we were in college together. I love the guy.

“I would always welcome to play with him again. I think it would unlock some things in both of us that people haven’t seen yet. I’m always open to that and I will be recruiting very hard. When that time comes, it will be a full-court press.”

Carr and Adams were a handful while at Fresno State. The QB threw for 9,187 yards in 2012 and 2013 combined, while Adams put up 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns.

A lot has to happen if Adams is ever going to put on a Raiders uniform, but with Carr doing what he can to recruit the receiver, you never know what will happen.
