ProFootballDoc: Injury Impact for Bears and Steelers Monday Night Football Game

A second straight negative week has the plus margin shrinking at 25-20 against the spread for the season.

It was a week of road underdogs with upsets wins. The Broncos dominated the Cowboys but picked up more injuries. The Titans used two early interceptions to easily handle the Rams. At least we were saved by a Vikings road cover.

PITTSBURGH -6.5 vs CHICAGO

The Steelers are on a three-game winning streak, while the Bears are on a three-game losing streak. Pittsburgh is also the healthier side tonight overall, offensively and defensively.

David Montgomery is on track for a return from a Week 4 MCL sprain, per Bears coach Matt Nagy, but we are not so sure. Earlier in the week, we saw a beat reporter's video (since deleted) where Montgomery looked improved but was still favoring the left knee MCL sprain. He carries a low SIC score of 28 out of 100, indicating he still may not play and even if he does, may not be effective.

A better return would be after the Bears' Week 10 bye as Chicago plays Baltimore in Week 11.

Defensively, Akiem Hicks has just returned from groin injury but top linebacker Khalil Mack and top safety Eddie Jackson are out.

Pittsburgh misses JuJu Smith-Schuster and Eric Ebron offensively. Defensively, the Steelers will miss two starters Stephon Tuitt and Tyson Alualu on the line.

Overall, veteran QB Ben Roethlisberger has home field, health and the win streak on his side against the rookie Justin Fields, who is struggling. Consult the Field View and SIC score before finalizing your wagering/DFS/fantasy plays.
