Not Done Yet: Le'Veon Bell Has A New Home (Again)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are adding veteran running back Le'Veon Bell to their roster, announced via NFL.com's Tom Pelissero. With lead running back Leonard Fournette landing on the Injured Reserve list, the Bucs are hoping that their bargain bin pick in Bell will be able to recapture some of the production from his time as a Steeler.

Bell has been bouncing from team to team after having accruing three Pro Bowl nods during his time in Pittsburgh (2013-18). The Bucs are Bell's fourth team in the past two seasons. Following his tenure for the Steelers, Bell joined the New York Jets as their premier option at running back before getting cut by the team after two seasons.

He then joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019, appearing in nine contests and starting as the lead back for two of those games. Bell temporarily joined the Baltimore Ravens this season amid injuries to JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Bell played five games for Baltimore this season: totaling 83 rushing yards on 31 attempts.

At 29 years of age and with a solid resumé still worth a veteran's minimum bid by a desperate, Bell continues to land work for playoff-hopeful teams. With Ronald Jones likely to take on the bulk of Fournette's snaps as he heads to Injured Reserve, Bell will likely be slated to take on some goal-line work or potentially as an added blocker for an already-fortified offensive line for the Bucs.

Bell reportedly considered stepping on the canvas for a boxing career as he mulled over his remaining prospects in the NFL.
