New York Giants May Have Interest In Veteran RB Adrian Peterson

Looking to add depth to their run game, the New York Giants are on the verge of signing future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson.

The team is hopeful that star running back Saquon Barkley will be able to return from an injury that cost him most of the 2020 season, but if not, having Peterson wouldn't be a bad insurance policy.

Last season with the Detroit Lions, Peterson rushed for 604 yards and seven scores.

Peterson may have to earn playing time with the Giants, as the team has already inked one veteran back this offseason, DeVontae Booker, who signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract.

New York also looked to the draft to help their run game and selected Arizona running back Gary Brightwell in the 6th round.

They also inked former Eagles running back Corey Clement and ex-Jaguars fifth-rounder Ryquell Armstead as potential backups to Barkley if he's not 100 percent.

And yet they still may not be finished.

At 35 years old, Peterson shows he's still got gas in the tank to be able to run the football. The question will be, can the two sides come to a deal as training camp closes in?
