MetLife Makes It Official, 100% Capacity Is Back For New York Jets and Giants Fans

The Meadowlands are making a return to full capacity after MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and Giants football teams, announced that vaccination efforts in New Jersey have cleared the way for a return to 100% crowds.

After New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced that 70% of New Jersey has received a shot of the vaccine, the stadium in East Rutherford housing both NFL teams announced plans to welcome fervent New York/Jersey fans at full capacity by September's start of the regular season.

Eager to showcase new quarterback Zach Wilson to the hometown Gang Green, and new regime under head coach Robert Saleh, the Jets are hoping that the fans' energy will help guide the franchise to a better record than the 2-14 season they had in 2020.

Moving off of former No. 3 pick Sam Darnold was a risky move for general manager Joe Douglas and the organization to make, but the Jets are set on moving forward under a new identity on both sides of the ball, also fortified by the addition of free agent edge rusher Carl Lawson.

After an offseason full of great acquisitions by general manager Dave Gettleman, the Giants landed top talent for their developing roster such as former Lions receiver Kenny Golladay, cornerback Adoree' Jackson and rookie Kadarius Toney.

The Mara family is desperately hoping that the team's second year under head coach Joe Judge will be an improvement from the kinetic, yet disappointing 6-10 season from Big Blue. The Giants will need to focus on doing more than staying afloat in the NFC (L)East.
