Man Arrested For Trying To Steal Beers From Nissan Stadium

A 36-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for trying to pull off one of the crazier heists in Nissan Stadium history before he was stopped by Nashville Metro Police, according to WKRN-Nashville. Stadium security says it saw William Thrift loading 29 beers into a bag and box.

That's when stadium security reacted and confronted Thirft over the heist and he took off running without the 29 beers. Metro Police eventually caught up to thirsty crook in a parking lot where they asked him about the attempted burglary of the cold ones.

"The door was open," Thirsty Thrift told police.

Now for the bad news: Not only did Thirsty leave without the beers, but now he's up for a felony burglary charge. Seriously, a felony. The part where Thirsty broke in probably has something to do with it.

This is actually the second time in 17 months Nissan Stadium has had unwanted visitors stealing beverages. Back in February 2020, two teenagers were accused of breaking into the stadium and making their way to the locker room where they helped themselves to a Gatorade. The two 19-year-olds were arrested and charged with burglary.

And then there was the case in November 2020 when a 32-year-old man made his way into Nissan Stadium and eventually ended up in the Tennessee State locker room and then on the field taking selfies. The man, Joshua Barton, was also accused of stealing food from a stadium corridor before leaving the grounds.

From the sound of things, Nissan Stadium security isn't one of those jobs where you sit around all day without action. Mall cops would love this place.
