Los Angeles Rams Agree To Deal With Free Agent WR Odell Beckham, Jr.

The Los Angeles Rams are in the process of finalizing a deal with former Cleveland Browns and New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham, Jr., per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Beckham's deal is expected to be a one-year contract, added Schefter. Los Angeles later confirmed via the Rams' site that the team is officially bringing in the 29-year-old Odell.

Odell cleared waivers on Tuesday after getting released by the team last Friday (Nov. 5), allowing him to hit the free agency market.

As detailed by OutKick's Nick Geddes, "Cleveland restructured Beckham Jr.’s contract, removing the final two years from his deal. Any team that claimed him before the 4:00 p.m. deadline on Tuesday would’ve owed Beckham Jr. the remaining $7.25 million on his contract."

Initial speculations pointed to the Packers and Seahawks as frontrunners to sign Odell — but in typical Rams fashion, the team broke through during crunch time to sign another marquee name.

The Rams already boasted a high-powered offense with the league's leader in passing yards in Matthew Stafford (2,771) and receiving yards leader in Cooper Kupp (1,019).

Reports emerged earlier this week that Los Angeles was looking to bring back Josh Reynolds after the Tennessee Titans waived the former Rams receiver. The Detroit Lions swooped in before LA to acquire Reynolds off the waiver wire.

Rams general manager Les Snead has been on a spree of marquee transactions in the past few seasons; with some of those acquisitions including Stafford, Von Miller and cornerback Jalen Ramsey — elevating this roster into a true Super Bowl contender.

Though similar reports have conflicted with Schefter's announcing of the Odell deal, the wide receiver was spotted on his Instagram chatting with Von Miller, with the caption: Let's Chase This Ring Family!!!!

Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium will host the 2021-2022 Super Bowl on February 2022.
