LeRoy Butler Says Aaron Rodgers, Packers Relationship Is Ticking Time bomb

Former Packers safety LeRoy Butler is warning fans that they may have to shield their eyes for what's to come between Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers in 2022.

While the franchise quarterback and reigning MVP has been outright in his lack of connection with the Packers organization in recent seasons, particularly this latest offseason, Rodgers' remaining time in Green Bay may lead to an even greater breakup after another season played alongside with scorned leadership and an adversarial general manager.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Butler laid out his trepidations over keeping Rodgers and what the future may hold for the future Hall of Famer. "After '22, I think will be gone to wherever he wants to go and they'll be glad to get rid of him at that point," commented Butler.

While the team's prospects for the 2021-2022 revert back to potential playoff contenders with the return of Aaron Rodgers, Butler believes that the organization should equally brace for an oncoming disaster once the team hands the keys to next-man-up Jordan Love — whose mixed reception from training camp and OTAs has yet to ensure any merit for the starting role.

As noted by OutKick founder Clay Travis, the last 30 years of luxury at the quarterback position for Green Bay — between Brett Favre and Rodgers — has pampered the fan base into never assuming that their weakest position may one day come from their lead play caller. Which is the perpetual case for at least one-third of NFL teams in any given season.

Though Butler does not foresee a unifying path ahead between Rodgers and the Packers, he did propose a solution to potentially quell the fires between both parties.

"You would have to fire ," advised Butler. "There's no coming back from that."
