Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins OUT For NFC West Showdown Between Cardinals, 49ers

All eyes have been on Kyler Murray's injury status this week to check if the MVP candidate will be able to keep the team afloat against the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) on Sunday.

The Cardinals quarterback was considered a game-time decision leading up to the contest, but will officially sit out Sunday's game, per Arizona's latest injury report.

On Week 8's Thursday Night Football matchup between the Cardinals and Green Bay Packers, Arizona suffered its first loss of the season — also watching their quarterback hobble to the scrimmage line on their penultimate play in the fourth. According to OutKick's ProFootballDoc, Murray had a left ankle eversion sprain following a tackle.

Arizona wideout DeAndre Hopkins was another name on the inactive list, due to a hamstring injury.

In any other division, one loss through eight weeks would appear as a solid lead, but Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams follow closely behind at 7-1.

Should the Cardinals (7-1) lose against San Francisco, and the Rams win against the Tennessee Titans Sunday night, Arizona would fall out of the lead in the West for the first time all season.
