Kenny Golladay, Daniel Jones Appear To Have Shouting Match In Giants’ Loss

Free agent signee Kenny Golladay was supposed to provide playmaking and stability to a Giants receiving corps that lacked sizzle. But through two weeks, Golladay's hauled in just seven receptions for 102 yards and is yet to find the end zone. Not exactly the ROI New York sought after handing Golladay a $72 million deal.

Likely feeling the pressure to live up to his hefty contract, a frustrated Golladay got into a verbal spat with quarterback Daniel Jones in the midst of Thursday night's loss to Washington.

Though cameras suggest otherwise, Jones told reporters that Golladay's tantrum wasn't directed at anyone in particular: “I think he was frustrated with the situation. I don’t really think it was to me or anyone in particular. So I think we’re all good. I love Kenny. I thought he played hard, and we did a lot of good things out there."

Jones finished a respectable 22 of 32 for 249 yards and a score. He was not intercepted and added a career-best 95 yards on the ground, including a touchdown. Golladay was targeted eight times but totaled just three catches, good for 38 yards.

“I’ve got to do a better job of finding him in some places. He was just frustrated, frustrated with the situation and we’ll be better from it," said Jones. "He plays hard and wants to win and wants to do the best for the team.”

It became clear in the post game that Golladay was pleading for the ball. That's a request that Jones seems to be on-board with: "You certainly want receivers that want the ball. We’ll keep working through it.”

Jones and Golladay have an opportunity to set aside their differences or square up for round two next Sunday, when the Giants host the Falcons.
