Justin Fields Works Out With Deshaun Watson, Jordan Love
Justin Fields is new to the NFL, a quarterback for the Chicago Bears with high expectations. So it's no surprise he'd want to try to adapt to the pros by working out with guys who have been there before.
One of those guys is Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson. The other is Green Bay Packers backup QB Jordan Love. Fields and Love share an agent, who shared a video of the pair taking snaps and working on footwork.
Fields had a fine career at Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to the national championship last season. He is expected to help turn the Bears from pretenders to similar contenders once he gets a real opportunity at the starting role.
"Fields said that he’s going to report to Halas Hall a couple of weeks before the start of training camp," relayed Alyssa Barbieri of Bears Wire. "While Fields impressed during the offseason program, Matt Nagy said that the rookie can’t win the job in camp, which means it’ll be Andy Dalton under center come Week 1 for the Bears."
But that's OK. Fields is already getting in plenty of work and with players who already have a pretty good idea of what they're doing under center.
Watson, of course, is in the middle of a firestorm after multiple allegations of sexual assault. Before that, he was supposedly seeking a trade. Love is tied to some drama as well, though no fault of his own. Instead, it has to do with Packers starter Aaron Rodgers, who is also upset and creating some tension.
