Promising chemistry between receivers and quarterback has followed Ryan Fitzpatrick across nine different teams in the NFL. His latest franchise, the Washington Football Team, welcomes FitzMagic as lead play caller after the bearded wonder helped the Miami Dolphins find their groove in 2020, and with the task to provide an equal boost for Washington's offense.

In six games with Miami where Fitzpatrick had more than 25+ throws, three of those performances went over 300+ passing yards. Embedded in those stats is Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki, whose Week 2 performance (8 receptions, 130 yards) encapsulated Fitzpatrick's connection with big radius receivers. This year, Fitzpatrick is assigned to working with tight end Logan Thomas, whose 670 receiving yards were only second to WR1 Terry McLaurin in Washington last season.

"Logan is an interesting guy," commented Fitzpatrick, regarding his new tight end. "He's a big physical guy who can make every catch. He's got that huge catching radius. That's something as a quarterback you love."

Fitzpatrick added, "It’s the subtleness in and out of the breaks. It's his ability to think like a quarterback out there. Whether it's man or zone and understanding where he needs to be and the timing at which he needs to be there, all that stuff has been great."

A known name in the sleeper category within his position, Logan Thomas saw his role as the lead tight end flourish in 2020. Adding six touchdowns to the 670 yards receiving, Thomas' breakout season has caught the attention of Fitzpatrick, and gives the new starting quarterback optimism over what's brewing with the Washington offense.

Starting out 5-4 in his nine games as a Dolphins starter, Fitzpatrick's stat-heavy performances during that stretch simultaneously added new life to a Miami receiving corps. With Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Thomas available to partner with Fitzpatrick's arm cannon on offense, the Washington Football Team is in good territory to give the Dallas Cowboys a run for their money in the NFC East.
