Injuries Around The NFL Sunday Knock Big Name Players Out Of Games

It's a violent game, folks and every Sunday's NFL action proves that. But this day is so far claiming big names who are finding themselves out of action dealing with injuries:

In Dallas, the New York Giants lost running back Saquon Barkley to a ankle injury in the first half. Barkley, who suffered an ACL injury last season, left the game on a cart. And he left the venue in a walking boot and crutches.

Then the disaster continued for the Giants.

They lost quarterback Daniel Jones to a concussion. He flew home with the team and will have to be cleared by the team and independent specialists before next week's game.

They lost receiver Kenny Golladay to a hyperextended knee injury.

Cornerback Rodarius Williams left the game with a knee injury.

All four New York players were ruled out.

The Bears, playing in Las Vegas against the Raiders, lost linebacker Caleb Johnson to a knee injury, offensive tackle Germain Ifedi was ruled out with a knee injury and linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu was ruled out with a pectoral injury.

In Cincinnati, quarterback Joe Burrow finished the game, a 25-22 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. But after the game Burrow was transported to a Cincinnati area hospital with what the Bengals called a "throat contusion."

Burrow told team officials he believed he was OK.

In Arizona, tight end Maxx Williams was carted off the field and did not return with what seemed to be a leg injury, possibly a knee.

There were also multiple close calls.

The Raiders lost quarterback Derek Carr for half-a-dozen plays when he was shaken up on a quarterback sneak. He returned after Nathan Peterman had replaced him.

And Chicago Bears starter Justin Fields also left the game for part of a series when he seemed to hyperextend his right knee on a scramble without any contact. Andy Dalton took over but Fields returned to the lineup in the same series.

Rough day in the NFL.

So far.
