Hurts So Good: Eagles Rookie QB Earns Another Start

Jalen Hurts did something Carson Wentz seemed incapable of doing, at least on a semi-regular basis. That would be quarterback the Philadelphia Eagles to victory.

Given that bit of information, Eagles coach Doug Marone on Monday said he will stick with Hurts as the Eagles starting QB.

“After going through the film and really looking back even to last week, and the preparation and everything, I’m going to continue with Jalen this week as the starter,” Pederson said.

Hurts guided the Eagles to a 24-21 win over the New Orleans Saints in his first start, passing for 167 yards and running for another 106.

In the process, the Eagles (4-8-1) snapped a four-game losing streak and stayed within striking distance of NFC East-leading Washington (6-7).

“It's a great team win,” Hurts said. “Everybody played together as one. We had each other's back.”

Hurts and the Eagles have three games remaining -- at Arizona and at Dallas, before finishing with a biggie at home against Washington.
