'He's A Monstar': Mayfield Likens Garrett To 'Space Jam' Villain After Record Day

Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields spent his first NFL start getting dunked on by Browns defenders, mainly Myles Garrett, who registered a career-best 4.5 sacks on Sunday. Garrett's other worldly performance was part of a dominant day by the Cleveland defense that likely left the newbie quarterback seeing (mon)stars. Fields was sacked nine times and completed just six pass attempts because of the constant pressure.

"He's a monstar, man," Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said, comparing his teammate to the Space Jam villains. “It’s unreal. He’s out there eating. I didn’t realize what he said prior to this week, and he lived up to that.”

Garrett spearheaded a Browns defense that got into Fields' head and held Chicago to 47 net yards. He totaled 7 pressures to go along with his franchise record 4.5 sacks, and by the fourth quarter, Browns fans were chanting his name. The "Myles Garrett" chants go so loud at one point that the Browns' offense had to motion for the crowd to quiet down.

“That’s a moment I’ll remember for a long time,” said Garrett.

Fellow defensive end Jadeveon Clowney chipped in another 8 pressures and a sack, adding to Fields' misery.

“It’s awesome seeing everybody getting off and making big plays. It’s just like when you’re in high school," said Garrett. "Everybody is balling, and you feel like you can make a play at any time. You feel like you’re the star. Everybody wants to feel like that on the field.”

Paced by Garrett's movie-like performance, Cleveland improved to 2-1 while the Bears fell to 1-2.
