Former Patriot On Bill Belichick: 'Cold Blooded'

The New England Patriots announced Tuesday that rookie Mac Jones is going to be their new full-time signal-caller and they released former NFL MVP Cam Newton.

Newton, the 32-year-old Patriots’ starter, started in all three preseason games as he went head-to-head with Jones for the job.

ESPN’s Louis Riddick said what many individuals said — Bill Belichick was cold-blooded with the decision, and former Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel agreed.

Samuel first started by saying that Belichick ‘never surprises’ him.

Samuel continued and said Belichick “is just another coach” without having Tom Brady on the roster, in his opinion.

Samuel said he believes Jones will do great, but drafting good players around Jones is where his questions lie.

While Belichick's decision wasn’t popular to many in the league, Newton tweeted Tuesday that he doesn't want people to feel sorry for him.
