Falcons Mulling Over Trade Offers For Julio Jones, Including Reported First-Round Pick

We might be getting close to the end of the Julio Jones trade saga. After being in headlines over the last several weeks, the future Hall of Fame receiver, 32, could be traded as early as next week.

Or at least that's what Dianna Russini from ESPN reported on Twitter Thursday morning. Her tweet also provides insight into trade offers that have been made for Jones, which include a first-round draft pick.

Considering his age, missed time due to injury in 2020 and cap hit, reports of a first-round pick being offered up for Jones may shock some. But there are few who doubt that the 10-year NFL veteran is still one of the top pass-catchers in league -- when healthy, at least.

It's also possible that a first-round pick hasn't been offered. If that's the case, this could be a move to drive up the market in hopes of landing a future Day 1 selection. Not saying that's the likely scenario here, but the possibility is worth pointing out.

So who ultimately ends up making the move?

Time will tell, but as long as the cap situation can be figured out, several teams should be in the mix. We've heard the Titans, Patriots, Raiders and several other teams as potential landing spots, all of which make a lot of sense.

It will also be interesting to see whether Atlanta allows Julio to have an input on where he goes.
