Does Jerry Jones Wish Kirk Cousins Was The Cowboys QB Instead Of Dak Prescott?
Probably not. But, you clicked! Hooray! Just kidding, sort of. Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager/ president of operations/football czar Jerry Jones made an interesting comment during his weekly media session on Tuesday. He praised Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and seemed to denigrate his own QB, Dak Prescott.
The San Francisco 49ers lambasted the Cowboys in Week 5, 42-10. That win moved the 49ers to 5-0 on the season. Before that result, Jones called San Francisco "the most likely team to go win the Super Bowl." After it, he surely felt stronger about that opinion.
However, since that victory, the 49ers have lost their last two games. They fell on Monday Night Football to the Minnesota Vikings. Kirk Cousins threw for over 375 yards and two touchdowns in his team's win.

Jerry Jones was clearly impressed by both the team and the player.
"I would've liked to have played better against the 49ers," Jones said, according to The Athletic. "You see a team step up and play like Minnesota did and their quarterback did, they can be had, the 49ers."
Well, that's certainly an about-face. But, more importantly, that sounds like a shot at Dak Prescott.
Jones implies that the key to beating the 49ers is the play of the quarterback. His quarterback didn't play particularly well against San Francisco in Week 5.
Prescott threw three interceptions, completed less than 60% of his passes and had just 152 yards passing.

He didn't play much better in the team's playoff loss last season, either. The 49ers intercepted him twice in that game, ultimately ending the Cowboys season.
So, back to the headline. Does Jerry Jones wish he had Kirk Cousins as his team's quarterback? He might. And, he probably should.
Lucky for him, the Vikings are likely to move on from Cousins after the season. There's also a potential to get out of Prescott's contract after this year.
Will Jones pull the trigger? Probably not.
But what a fun thought experiment!
