Derrick Henry May Be Lost For Season

Superstar running back Derrick Henry may be done for the season. If he is, the Super Bowl dreams of his fellow Titans are probably done too. Henry was hurt during Sunday's overtime win versus Indianapolis, and the news out of Music City this morning is anything but music to fans' ears.

Adam Schefter is reporting that an MRI today will determine the full extent of Henry's injury, though it's currently being referred to as "potentially season-ending."






As Henry goes, so go the Titans. Without the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Tennessee would likely be nothing more than playoff pushovers for the rest of the league. As OutKick's Meg Turner detailed last month, Henry's been a workhorse and the main source of offense for the already banged up Titans. He leads the NFL in rushing with 937 yards. That's nearly 300 more yards than the second-place rusher, Jonathan Taylor of the Colts. King Henry's 10 rushing scores also tops the league.

Despite suffering the injury prior to halftime in yesterday's win, Henry played the remainder of the game, but was clearly limited. He finished with a season-worst 68 yards on 28 carries and was held out of the end zone. Those 28 carries gave Henry a league-high 219 on the season.

Now, Tennessee will be left to pray for an early Christmas miracle as they await the results of Henry's MRI.
