Derek Carr Leaves Chargers Game, Marcus Mariota Takes Over for Raiders

The Raiders are in a heated battle with the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football. Unfortunately for Las Vegas, the rest of that battle could be without Derek Carr.

The seven-year quarterback left the game in the first quarter after seemingly injuring his groin. Carr was then taken back to the locker room for further evaluation. Below is a clip of the play found on Twitter.

With Carr's status in question, the Raiders will now turn to backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft flamed out with the Titans, but he will now get an opportunity to show off his stuff -- for however long that lasts.

With Mariota being an Oregon product, this Thursday night matchup will now include two former Duck quarterbacks going head-to-head, as rookie Justin Herbert is the starting quarterback for Los Angeles.
