Can The Arizona Cardinals Do Enough To Make CB Patrick Peterson Happy?

A week ago, the Arizona Cardinals shocked the NFL world by coming to terms on a two-year deal with defensive end J.J. Watt worth $31 million.

While signing Watt was a huge splash move, the Cardinals still have work to do when it comes to their free agents, including cornerback Patrick Peterson.

The eight-time Pro Bowl selection is available to any team come next week when free agency starts, and the corner says that what happens next is in the Cardinals' corner.

“I know that I will be playing football for someone, if it's the Cardinals or someone else,” Peterson said.

“I’m a go-with-the-flow-type guy. That’s out of my control. I’ve done everything I can do to show my worth, and I can still play this game. I know I will be playing football for somebody, so that’s my approach.”

A rumor a few weeks back hinted that Peterson and the Cards were no more and that the corner had agreed to move on to another team.

Peterson shot that rumor down, and Arizona owner Michael Bidwill has said on record that he would love to get the corner back.

The 30-year-old veteran had three picks to go along with 61 tackles last season.
