Bucs Ink Familiar Face To Fill In For Antonio Brown

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing back a former help in wideout Breshad Perriman to assist the team's receiving corps in the absence of Antonio Brown.

According to ESPN-NFL insider Adam Schefter, "Bucs are signing WR Breshad Perriman to their active roster, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus."

Perriman was last seen playing for the Buccaneers in the 2019-20 season: putting up a modest 645 receiving yards on 36 receptions and six touchdowns during the Jameis Winston era.

On Wednesday, Antonio Brown was announced to miss an additional two weeks due to an ankle injury stemming from the team's Week 6 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brown's time away was then met with a three-game suspension passed down by the League due to the wideout getting caught for using a fake vaccination card.

Though whispers early Friday insinuated that head coach Bruce Arians, who is undoubtedly distrusting of Brown by now, may choose to depart with the wide receiver over a matter like COVID protocols, the player is still expected to wait out his 3-5 week timeline before he sees the field again. Both he and safety Mike Edwards will sit out the three games without pay due to the infringement.

Luckily the Buccaneers will still have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and tight end Rob Gronkowski to keep the offense pushing ahead as Tom Brady looks to add upon his season total for passing touchdowns — currently leading all quarterbacks with 30 TDs through 11 games.

The 8-3 Bucs face off against a fellow NFC South team in the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.
