Brett Favre: 'Change of Venue' Could Rekindle Eagles QB Carson Wentz

For whatever reason, things just haven't gone well for quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles this season. It's gotten so bad for Wentz that he was benched in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. Now, he's been replaced by Jalen Hurts.

But quarterbacking legend Brett Favre thinks there may be a way for Wentz to salvage his career, and that would be to get traded.

"I think for Carson, I think he’s an extremely talented guy. It may be that a change of venue will serve him well," Favre said on SiriusXM NFL radio. "(Ryan) Tannehill comes to mind. Guy was basically all but forgotten in Miami ,and he turns up in Tennessee and it kind of re-established his credibility.

"I’m not saying that will happen with Carson, but it’s kind of what I envision happening, just to change venue and kind of a fresh, new start.”

The Eagles are 3-8-1, but for the first time this season, their playoff hopes are slipping away. They now trail the New York Giants (5-7) by two games in the NFC East. Washington is also 5-7.

Right now, it would be tough for the Eagles to move Wentz. He's been bad this season, and he has a large contract. Opposing teams won't exactly be clamoring to give up talents or assets for that someone like that.

But the Eagles may be willing to give a Wentz trade a shot during the offseason anyway. Favre is right. It could benefit both them and Wentz.
