Bills, Panthers Play 'Let's Make A Deal' For DE Darryl Johnson

With moves aplenty around the NFL this Monday, the Buffalo Bills and the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a trade.

Buffalo has reportedly sent defensive end Darryl Johnson to the Carolina Panthers for a sixth-round pick.






The Bills and GM Brandon Beane received numerous calls about Johnson over the weekend, and Beane and the Panthers then came to a deal Monday.

The move could be a winner for both sides, as Buffalo already has depth at the end spot, with Jerry Hughes and former Carolina Panther Star Lotulelei.

Johnson was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2019, and while some might wonder why the Bills would move him, getting a sixth-round for him is a win. With so many talented players in front of him, Johnson wasn't likely to see much playing time in Buffalo.

Special teams coordinator Heath Farwell gave Johnson plenty of praise, including earlier in camp.

“He’s a huge man running down on kickoffs running as fast as linebackers. You don’t see big guys running down the field like that,” Farwell said.
