Ben Roethlisberger in COVID-19 Protocol Limbo for Steelers-Bengals
Ben Roethlisberger's status for Sunday's divisional matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals is up in the air, after the Pittsburgh quarterback was deemed a "high risk" close contact with tight end Vance McDonald. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports:
By now you know the drill of this football season, where you can never be certain a game will definitely happen or a player will definitely participate in it. The silver lining, at least for the time being, is that Roethlisberger has not yet had a positive test and would thus be eligible for Sunday's tilt, provided he continues to test negative between now and then.
At 8-0, the Steelers are the last undefeated team in the NFL, and it goes without saying it would be a blow for them if Mason Rudolph were to start in place of Roethlisberger on Sunday.
