Bears Said To Be Interested In Andy Dalton

Andy Dalton, 34, is coming off an OK run with the Dallas Cowboys, and in a crazy offseason of quarterback rumors, Dalton has sort of flown under the radar.

But alas, there is interest in Dalton.

Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Dalton is drawing free agent interest from no less than the Chicago Bears. Biggs then offered three things to keep in mind when it comes to Bears and the "Red Rifle" QB.

"1) Lots of folks have used the Bears in QB talks already (see the Wentz situation)," Biggs noted. "2) Adding Dalton would not preclude them from then trading for a QB. 3) Absent a massively expensive trade, there isn't a great option out there."

Bears general manager Ryan Pace has also made it sound as if the quarterback position is wide open entering 2021.

“Everything is on the table in regard to the quarterback situation,” Pace told reporters. “And, honestly, that includes players on our current roster, that includes free agency, trade, the draft and a combination of all those. We have a plan in place, and now it’s about executing that plan.”

Today, Nick Foles is the Bears' starter. Mitch Trubisky likely won't return as the backup/former starter. Will the Bears rifle in Dalton? It may be something to watch.
