Baker Mayfield Laments 'Piss-Poor Performance'

Despite Baker Mayfield struggling to hit Odell Beckham Jr. — or any other target — in Sunday's game, the Cleveland Browns escaped the Minnesota Vikings with a 14-7 victory thanks to the defense and running game.

Mayfield finished the game completing 15-of-33 passes for 155 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions for a 59.5 rating.

After the game, Mayfield thanked the defense and vocalized how he was unhappy with his performance.

“That piss-poor performance by me isn’t going to cut it," Mayfield said. “I’ve got to be better. It’s just that simple." reports that Mayfield targeted Beckham seven times to tie for the team-high, but hit him only twice for 27 yards. Mayfield also targeted tight end Austin Hooper five times, and found him only once for 11 yards.

The QB has two TD passes to go along with his two interceptions through four games to start this season, which reports is not close to what was expected with this loaded offense.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski isn’t concerned, though.

“When you throw the ball deep, you’re not going to hit all of those," Stefanski said Monday.
