Atlanta Falcons Tweet Hilarious Response to MNF Score

The Monday Night Football game had nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons. The two teams facing off were the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys. But the Falcons and their fans still had a role to play anyway.

Midway through the third quarter, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray ran in a touchdown to put his team up 28-3 against the Cowboys. Those three digits should look familiar, especially to Atlanta fans. It is the same exact score the Falcons had against New England in Super Bowl LI back in 2017.

The same Super Bowl that the Patriots came back to win 34-28 in overtime.

Since nothing slips past people on social media, there was plenty of chatter about the odd -- and funny -- coincidence. Incidentally, Atlanta also blew another big lead earlier this season against the Cowboys, the same team being blown out on Monday night.

The official Falcons Twitter account tweeted a hilarious response that acknowledged the elephant in the room:

This tweet also comes less than 24 hours after another Atlanta-based sports team, the Atlanta Braves, put the finishing touches on a blown 3-1 lead against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This meltdown cost them their first World Series appearance since the mid-90s.

It's like there's a higher power doing its best to troll the city of Atlanta right now, and we're all here to bear witness. If you know any sports fans in that city, regardless of their preferred team, make sure to reach out. If they also happen to be fans of two major Atlanta sports teams, you might want to call for a wellness check.
