Arrowhead Stadium Ran Out Of Fireworks Because Chiefs Scored Too Much

Chiefs Kingdom encountered a problem Sunday as quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the offense continued to find the endzone — the team announced it ran out of touchdown fireworks.

At one point, Mahomes MVP-level passing was on full display as he completed 30-of-39 for 404 yards and one turnover, with five touchdown passes coming in a span of 11 minutes.

The Chiefs went on to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21 during their Wild Card playoff game, and despite the message apologizing to fans and instructing them to direct complaints to the nearest help booth, the victory was able to be celebrated with fireworks.

KSHB 41 News reports Arrowhead Stadium had a separate stash of fireworks saved specifically for the end of the game, and the fireworks were set off without issue.

While the Chiefs went into the game as 12-point favorites, it seems the crew at Arrowhead Stadium didn't expect the team to be quite this dominant, despite Kansas City facing the exact situation last year, Larry Brown Sports' Steve DelVecchio reported.
