Are The Seahawks A Dark Horse To Acquire Falcons Veteran WR Julio Jones?

Another day, another team mentioned in the Atlanta Falcons/WR Julio Jones saga regarding where he might line up in 2021.

Jones, who has been rumored to wind up in a variety of places, may end up staying in the NFC. The latest report says that he may wind up playing with Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks next season .

The Falcons receiver has also reportedly gotten some interest from a number of other NFL squads looking to upgrade their receiver position. Among those teams are the Los Angeles Rams, the New England Patriots, the Tennessee Titans and even the San Francisco 49ers.

All those teams are in search of a top flight pass catcher, but some of them may be unwilling to offer the compensation the Falcons want in return.

Atlanta needs money for their ongoing salary cap situation. The team right now has yet to ink any of their nine 2021 draft picks because they just don't have the money to do it.

Getting money as well as a draft pick or two might be enough to satisfy the Falcons to move the 10-year NFL receiver, who last season pulled in 51 catches for 771 yards and three scores.

Jones is a chip that the Falcons need to continue to dangle. He and Grady Jarrett may be the only key players on the roster who could net the team some type of solid return.

If the Falcons decide that it's time to move on from Jones, they may have to wait and see which team offers them the best trade package.

When that may happen is anyone's guess, but it seems like the conversation stove is heating up.
