Are Browns Ready To Deal Odell Beckham Jr. To Chicago?
Cleveland Browns wide out Odell Beckham Jr. missed a majority of last season after he injured his ACL during the win over the Cincinnati Bengals in late October.
Since then, Cleveland and its fans have been waiting for the three-time Pro Bowler to come out and have a huge game, or even just play in a couple games to try and stay sharp.
The Browns played well in 2020, even without Beckham, but this year the front office may decide to move him after two seasons of just treading water.
One team that has reportedly expressed interest in Beckham is the Chicago Bears.
Reports say that Chicago would send veteran defensive end Akiem Hicks back to the Browns in exchange for Beckham. Hicks could step right in and have a positive impact on the Browns' defensive line.
Just last season, Hicks played in 15 games with the Bears, putting up 49 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Reports say that Hicks is not happy with his contract situation, and his agent Drew Rosenhaus said they’re looking for a new deal. The 31-year-old is in the final season of a four-year, $48 million contract.
Bleacher Report and writer Brad Gannon said the Browns would “be silly” not to make the trade if given the offer. Now it remains to be seen whether the Browns agree.
