Antonio Brown Says Several Teams Have Called About His Services

If you trust former Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown as a reliable narrator, he's got good news regarding a potential return to the NFL.

After getting cut by Tampa Bay on Jan. 6, rumors of Brown's next home in the League quickly found the headlines based on the seven-time Pro Bowl wideout's undisputed value on the field.

In an interview with Complex, Brown announced that "a couple of teams" have called since his release from the Bucs, following a dispute with head coach Bruce Arians.

"I'm a football player, man. I'm a professional athlete. Let's not get that twisted," Brown declared. "That's my main thing."

Brown's third-quarter tirade against the New York Jets in Week 17 marked his final appearance in a game, with ramifications from the event giving reason to potentially see AB sidelined for the foreseeable future — even indefinitely.

Leading up to his quarreling with Arians, Brown cited an ankle injury as justification to sit out. Coach Arians stated in a post-game interview that Brown was complaining over his target share, which fell behind only Rob Gronkowski and Mike Evans.

Having skipped from one team to the next over character issues the past four seasons, Brown's viability in the League has regressed significantly, especially after botching his second comeback attempt alongside Tom Brady.

In the interview, Brown was vague on whether he had spoken with his former quarterback since the meltdown. "He's trying to win the Super Bowl, last time I heard," Brown said.

CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reported that several teams in the NFL were keen on Brown's pending status with the Bucs days before his official release.

In a recent interview, Brown also noted that newly named USFL head coach and general manager Todd Haley contacted AB on potentially joining the Tampa Bay Bandits for spring football — set to kick off on Apr. 16.
