49ers Agree To Terms With Veteran CB Josh Norman
San Francisco is adding a piece to their secondary puzzle, as per Jay Glazer of FOX, the 49ers have signed cornerback Josh Norman to a one-year deal.
The 33-year-old has appeared in 120 games (95 starts) over the course of his nine-year NFL career, with 440 combined tackles, 15 interceptions and 83 passes defended. He is a one-time All-Pro and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015.
The one-year deal is a perfect fit for both the Niners and Norman, who can take his time in SF year by year without a long-term deal.
Last season, the cornerback played in Buffalo, putting up 24 combined tackles and one interception in nine games. He also added one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
His 72.4 overall grade on Pro Football Focus ranked 17th among all NFL cornerbacks.
The Carolina Panthers had slapped Norman with the franchise tag back in 2016, but then Carolina took the offer back, and he went off to Washington to play for the Redskins from 2016 to 2019.
Now, he'll put his talents to use in San Francisco, one season at a time.
