NFL Draft Update: Jets, Jaguars Flopping To Finish First Overall

NFL Media updates the order of the 2021 draft each week, and it remains a true battle between the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars to say, "We're No. 1."

It's not really a battle you want to win because, in a nutshell, it means you really stink. It means you are the worst.

The Jets (0-10) hold that title at the moment. The Jaguars (1-9) are closing in fast. And with Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence being the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow of futility, it's unlikely either team is going anywhere but further down.

Right now, the Jets and Jaguars don't want to win. That's a good thing because neither team could win if it wanted to. And think about this -- the Jaguars could become the first team in NFL history to finish 1-15 and not end up with the first overall pick.

What a year 2020 has been, huh?

Anyway, per NFL.com, here is the draft order as it stands today:

As of today, the teams not listed here are in the playoffs, but that's just for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

The Jets and Jaguars are playing for something much more meaningful. To them, anyway.
