NFL Announces Super Bowl Attendance Capacity & Free Trips For Healthcare Workers

The NFL has set its attendance cap for Super Bowl LV in Tampa, and it will include thousands of vaccinated healthcare workers who will be given free tickets to see the game. Adam Schefter reports that 22,000 fans will be allowed into Raymond James Stadium on February 7, including 7,500 healthcare workers.

The limited capacity has sent the ticket secondary market into a frenzy. The get-in price currently sits at $7,800 on StubHub.

Mark Maske of the Washington Post has reported that the 7,500 health care workers will have received their second dose of COVID vaccine by January 24. Most of the workers receiving the tickets will be from the Tampa area, however NFL teams will also pick four deserving healthcare workers to send to the game with their airfare and hotel costs covered.

"Fans will sit in socially distanced pods of two, four or six people at the Super Bowl. Pods of vaccinated health care workers will be interspersed throughout the stadium between seating pods of other fans," Maske reports.

Super Bowl fans will also be required to wear N95 masks that will be given to them upon entry. Ticketing will be via mobile devices.
