Watch: Georgia DL Jordan Davis Rushes For A TD And Leads The Band In Last Home Game
It continues to be a strong year for Georgia DL Jordan Davis, as he led the Dawgs defense to the win against Charleston Southern. But it wasn't just his defensive pressure that was on display today in Athens. The consensus first round draft pick can add another talent to his NFL Draft stock, as he ran the ball twice today, once for a touchdown.
Georgia OC Todd Monken called the same play twice in a row for Davis, after his first attempt from the 2-yard line failed. But, the 6'6, 340 pound nose guard wasn't going to be denied on his second attempt, as he "leaped" into the end zone for the touchdown, bringing the Georgia crowd into a frenzy. It was Jordan's last game in Athens, so going out with a touchdown should be a nice way to finish things off at home.
So, he scored a touchdown and has led this Dawgs defense all season. What else could he do to cement his legacy at Georgia? How about lead the band after the game, which is exactly what he did. I am honestly surprised they didn't have to bring in a bigger ladder stand.
It's been a great year for Davis, as he should win multiple postseason awards for his play, but he will also lead his team into the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playoffs.
I couldn't imagine a better way to finish off your last game at home.
