Watch: Army Football Players Lead 9/11 Tribute That Will Give You Chills

The 20th anniversary of 9/11 has been honored throughout Saturday's college football action.

Each tribute has been special in their own way, but Army's American flag-wielding introduction ahead of their matchup against Western Kentucky may been the most tear-inducing tribute of the day.

Every player on Army's roster bolted onto the field at Michie Stadium — proudly hoisting the utmost symbol of freedom. American flags waved in the air and covered the field as 4,000 spectating fans and military servicemembers cheered on the Black Knights.

The day was ultimately victorious for Army, 38-35, in a hard-fought game — though their honoring of the nation's flag became the moment that audiences will ultimately remember.

Detailed in the Fox News report, Army coach Jeff Monken spoke on what the upcoming tribute to 9/11 would mean to him and his players after witnessing national discourse over the significance of the American flag's message. One of freedom, hope and resiliency.

"The importance of getting back to normal (was a) sense of message about who we are as a nation, that we're not going to be held hostage by an invisible enemy," declared Monken.
