Texas Suffers Another Loss, This Time In RB Bijan Robinson

"Oh Lord, when it rains it pours."

Who knew a Luke Combs song could sum up the state of Texas football right now? The Longhorns (4-6) are coming off a 57-56 loss to Kansas (2-8), a new program low. First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian has now watched his team start 4-1 and lose five consecutive games. This most recent loss is basically the nail in the coffin on the 2021 season.

Meanwhile, sophomore running back Bijan Robinson suffered a dislocated elbow in the Kansas loss and is out for the rest of the season. Robinson suffered the injury on the following play.

Robinson ends his sophomore campaign with 1,127 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry. Robinson was once thought of as a Heisman candidate, but his chances took a hit during the Longhorns' losing streak.

Robinson's play, meanwhile, hasn't been the same since losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in October. He hasn't eclipsed 100 rushing yards in the past three games and rushed for a season low 43 yards on Oct. 30 against Baylor.

The Longhorns will need to win their last two games to become bowl eligible. They'll travel to face West Virginia (4-6) this Saturday at Noon before returning home to take on Kansas State (7-3) on Friday, Nov. 26 at 11:00 a.m.
