NC State Brings Back 'Horny/Slobbering Wolf' Logo

NC State announced Friday it's time to bring back a logo the school used that was once dubbed the "Horny Wolf," but the school will go with a more PC title of Slobbering Wolf to describe the new logo that will be used on football helmets that will also feature bricks that represent the 588,060 bricks found across the school's campus.

The horny, or slobbering wolf, logo was used from 2000-05 and picked up steam in June when the NC State baseball team was seen wearing the logo during its College World Series run, prompting some school observers to believe Horny Wolf would soon find his way to other sports.

Now for the bad news.

"NC State football is bringing back an iconic logo exclusively for the season opener against USF," the school announced. "The 'Slobbering Wolf' will adorn each side of the Pack's helmet for that Sept. 2 contest."

Sounds like a one-and-done for Horny Wolf. Perhaps someone in the marketing department who understands a viral sensation when they see it will decide that it's time to just make this the Year of the Horny Wolf and roll with this logo all the way to December.

Do it, Football Gods. Intervene here. We need horny wolf for more than just one week.
