Kansas Fans Rush The Field After Win Over South Dakota

The Kansas Jayhawks snapped a 13-game losing streak on Friday night by taking down South Dakota, and Kansas fans celebrated as any team would after a win: by rushing the field.

The Jayhawks beat their FCS opponent, the Coyotes, 17-14 in nail-biting fashion and marked the program's first win in 677 days.

While Kansas fans celebrated their school's first win in nearly two years, the victory was also head coach Lance Leipold's first game with the team.

It's the first time Kansas won a game since Oct. 26, 2019 — a span of over 22 months, Yahoo Sports reports. The Jayhawks' win came after KU fell behind 14-10 in the fourth quarter. 

Kansas quarterback Jason Bean made his debut during the game and tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Lawrence Arnold with 1:55 left to play — Kansas held on to win.

The Jayhawks finally have their first victory since 2019 after losing 13 straight.
