Former Tennessee OL Has Found His Next Home

Former Tennessee offensive lineman James Parsons has found his next home. After entering the transfer portal back in early June, the former walk-on has announced that he will finish his career at Gardner-Webb.

Parsons announced that news on his Twitter account Tuesday night.

At 6-foot-5, 320 pounds, the redshirt sophomore could have an opportunity for playing time with the Runnin' Bulldogs. His departure won't affect the Vols much -- at least not in the same way that some of the other transfers have impacted the roster outlook this offseason -- but it's good to see Parsons find an opportunity elsewhere.

Here's what he had to say back in June when he announced that he was entering the transfer portal:

“First, I would like to say thank you to the coaches I’ve had here at the University of Tennessee for helping me grow as a player and as a person,” Parsons said in a tweet, via Vols Wire. “Thanks to everyone I’ve played with these last two years, I enjoyed working with all of you.

“Secondly, thank you to my friends, family, and academic staff, I wish you all the best moving forward. With that being said, I have officially entered my name in the NCAA transfer portal.”
