Florida AD Expects To Be At Full Capacity For Football Season

The University of Florida is giving fans all the access it wants for fall sports. You guessed it -- that means a full stadium for football.

Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin suggested as much, and after a season of limited capacity, The Swamp will be allowed to host 88,548 fans in 2021.

"Stricklin made the comment — the first significant one about UF’s plans for allowing fans to attend games — during a virtual UF Eye Opener Discovery Breakfast with faculty and staff Wednesday, according to Gainesville TV reporter Sara Cardona of MYCBS4," the Orlando Sentinel relayed.

This is a big change from last season, when the football stadium could be filled to only about 20% capacity, or 17,000 people.

Gators coach Dan Mullen hinted last week a full house was perhaps on the way, tweeting “See you in the Swamp this fall,” and a video clip of game vs. Auburn from 2019.

The Swamp was full then and it appears it will be again in 2021.
