Coastal Carolina Head Coach Jamey Chadwell & Family Nailed Their 'Saved By The Bell' Halloween Costumes
In a profession dominated by guys who are incredibly stressed and unable to have a little fun in the fall, there's Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell, who makes it a priority to take time out in the fall to dress up for his family's annual Halloween costume photo.
A year ago, Chadwell, 44 (that's right, he's one of us around here), made sure to take a moment during an appearance on Clay's OutKick radio show (RIP) to tell him all about the Goonies costumes he and the family wore for Halloween.
Fast-forward to 2021 and the pressure starting to mount for a family that is now expected to produce five-star costumes. The Chadwells, thanks to the kids suggesting it, went as the cast of Saved by the Bell.
Again, right in the wheelhouse for Jamey Chadwell, who 100% grew up watching A.C. Slater dominate the halls of Bayside High. Like Slater, Chadwell was a dominant high school quarterback who would go on to coach some pigskin. The differences end when Chadwell goes on to become the head coach at No. 21 Coastal Carolina where he's 26-18, including 18-2 over his last two seasons.
A.C. Slater, you'll remember, goes back to Bayside High after graduating from college (California U.) to take over the football program and remains in the job for the next 15 years.
As for Chadwell, he remains a hot commodity for university presidents around the country who are looking for the next great head coach.
The only miss with this year's Halloween costumes from Solmaz Chadwell, Jamey's wife, is not getting video of her husband recreating the 'Slater Dance' from the glorious "Dancing To The Max" episode that aired August 20, 1989.
