Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games Will Not Require Masks In Stands

Just when you thought the fine people at Chick-fil-A couldn't get any better, they went ahead and dropped a news nugget that will make your football viewing experience even more enjoyable. Ahead of Labor Day weekend's Chick-fil-A Kickoff games, officials released a number of policies they'll be implementing for fans attending the Atlanta-based college contests. Most notably, fans will not be required to wear masks throughout the majority of the stadium.

The pair of games begin Saturday when top ranked Alabama and fourteenth ranked Miami meet at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Two days later, 25th ranked Louisville will square off with Ole Miss and their Heisman hopeful quarterback, Matt Corral.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium features a retractable roof which will be opened for both contests, allowing the vast majority of fans to enjoy a mask-free football experience. Only closed rooms such as the retail store, press box, and club spaces will require masks.

“Our policy decisions were made after careful consideration and discussions with Mercedes-Benz Stadium and our participating teams. These protocols are consistent with all other recent events hosted at the stadium, and fan response has been very positive," said Gary Stokan, CEO and president of Peach Bowl, Inc.

Leave it to the chicken gods to bring a sense of normalcy back to college football.
