Big 12 Athletic Directors, CEOs Meeting Thursday To Discuss Texas, Oklahoma

With the news of Texas and Oklahoma potentially leaving the Big 12 for the SEC, the longtime Power Five conference is scrambling to come up with a "what's next" strategy while mitigating the looming damage.

According to a tweet from Dennis Dodd with CBS Sports, Big 12 athletic directors and other key decision-makers are planning to meet on Thursday afternoon to discuss the current situation with its two biggest programs.

It's difficult to say what exactly will be discussed at this meeting, but it doesn't take much to figure out that those discussions won't be much fun.

If Texas and Oklahoma succeed in making the leap to the SEC, other conferences such as the Pac-12, ACC and maybe even the Big Ten will likely attempt to pillage some or all of the remaining team in the Big 12.

After dealing with instability for years, the Big 12 is finally on the brink of collapse. It will be interesting to see what -- if anything -- comes out of this Big 12 officials meeting on Thursday.
