AR15 Sounds Non-Committal To His Future At UF After Yet Another Power Five Loss

Following a superb outing against the LSU Tigers — falling short of a comeback, 49-42 — Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson was asked for a response regarding fans' concerns that the quarterback may be on his way out of Gainesville.

Richardson, rather than quelling fears, was sincere about his hesitance with remaining part of the quarterback carousel leading Dan Mullen's Florida team.

According to college football beat reporter Nick de la Torre, the redshirt freshman clearly left the door open for a potential exit from the program. "I can't really speak on that," Richardson announced post game. "Time is the only thing that tells. Right now I'm a Gator."

With the LSU Tigers leading 28-13 in the third quarter, Florida decided to put Richardson in the game for Emory Jones. Jones ended the day, completing 12-of-19 passes for 161 yards, also throwing one touchdown and two interceptions.

Richardson swiftly got to work: usurping Jones' production to the tune of four touchdowns, including three passing scores and one rushing touchdown. He completed 10-of-19 passes, also throwing two turnovers, and rushed for 37 yards on seven carries.

Florida's loss on Saturday dropped the team to 2-6 in their last eight contests against Power Five teams. Their last two wins came against Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Emory Jones was instrumental in the 42-0 shut out against the Commodores: throwing four touchdowns, one pick and racking up 313 yards of total offense. Facing the Vols, Jones threw for two scores and 353 total yards — 144 of those on the ground on 15 carries.

Jones may now be slated for a backup role following Saturday's benching, and with newfound pressure on the Gators to rally behind Richardson in order to help soothe transfer rumors for the time being.
